COLMAR

 

The brand COLMAR was born in 1923 from the simple intuition of Mario and Irma Colombo, who decided to change their destiny, switching from a permanent employment to the charming world of a family company. At this point the Manifattura Mario Colombo was born and, at the very beginning, it was involved into the production of only felt hats. The name COLMAR came as an acronym of the name Mario Colombo.

 

Later in the 1930’s the production moved to fabricating of the work outfits that revealed being suitable to those who were interested in skiing. This is how COLMAR came to an idea to start  producing the sportswear. COLMAR’s specialization on the production of the ski outfits was also thanks to the relationship with Zeno Colò, a famous ski champion. Thanks to the first aero-dynamic ski garments that COLMAR created for him, Zeno won the gold medal in the downhill discipline at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo.

 

In the years to come COLMAR continued investing in different kinds of areas. The brand became the symbol of snow and its famous claim “In caso di neve, Colmar” was a catch-phrase for its customers.

 

Since 2009 COLMAR has started to develop its production range: in 2009 the COLMAR Originals collection, being a fashion outwear, was introduced for the first time,

COLMAR Originals offers a wide range of garments giving the opportunity to create a ‘total look’. The collection is composed of two seasonal proposals: autumn-winter and spring-summer collections. The core product is outerwear: from real down to padded and light weight jackets. At the same time sweaters, sweatshirts, pants, shorts, beachwear, accessories and shoes are also available and may help to complete the desired ‘total look’.

 

COLMAR is a synonymous of snow and skiing: that is why the product range of COLMAR Ski  is wide enough to satisfy all different kind of skiers. It is based on 3 functional pillars: technology, performance and comfort. The attention to quality and performance is guaranteed by the use of advanced technologies, mixed with Italian style and taste. The package is composed of jackets, trousers, sweatshirts, base-layer, children’s clothes (from 0 to 16 years) and a lot of accessories.
